EMR & ESD

EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection) involves injecting a solution under the lesion to lift it away from the deeper layers of the intestinal wall, allowing it to be safely snared and removed.

ESD (Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection) is a more advanced technique used for larger, flatter lesions. It involves the use of specialized electrosurgical knives to carefully dissect the lesion from the submucosal layer. This method allows for the removal of much larger tumors in a single piece, which is critical for accurate pathological staging and curative treatment.
